Jermaine Austin is a third-year PhD student in the Committee on Cancer Biology. He received his Bachelor's of Science in Biology from the University of Virginia and matriculated into the Committee on Cancer Biology after doing a one-year post-baccalaureate program in the laboratory of Dr. Megan McNerney at the University of Chicago. His current thesis research investigates the “interactome” of the METTL3/METTL14 complex in healthy and dysfunctional pancreatic beta cells.
